Where to Find Affordable Throw Pillows

When I started decorating my own house, one thing that gave me serious sticker shock was the price of throw pillows. You could easily spend hundreds on throw pillows for just one couch. I’m all for paying extra money for good quality, but it’s hard for me to justify spending a small fortune on pillows that a) are primarily decorative and b) I will probably get tired of quickly and change out with the seasons anyway. Who else is with me?

The thing is, something as simple as throw pillows can really change a room. An otherwise boring couch can be brought to life with some awesome throw pillows. It’s an easy way to add style or a pop of color to any space. Unfortunately, due to the prices I was finding, I put off buying these since we moved in to our house even though we could really use some. We have a super comfy gray couch that I love, but the couch paired with the gray carpet and gray walls in our living room feels a little cold and plain if I’m being honest with myself. The couch did come with a few matching pillows, but I need something with a little more style and color. Something that’s a little more me.

That’s why I decided to do some research to find out where I could get throw pillows without going broke. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice style just because you’re on a budget, right? Luckily, I was able to found tons of sources for affordable throw pillows, most of which can be ordered online. Check out my list below!

1. Wayfair

Wayfair has throw pillows in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Whatever your style is, you’ll probably be able to find pillows here that match it. I find that most of their pillows run in the $20 to $30 range, sometimes more and sometimes less. You can also find many pillows in sets of two for the same price, which is an awesome deal!

2. Overstock

Overstock is similar to Wayfair as far as selection and prices. You can also find throw pillows in sets of two or more which will definitely save you some money.

3. At Home

If you’ve ever been to an At Home store, you probably saw their enormous throw pillow section. I was just there last weekend, and I think it was seriously about three aisles packed from floor to ceiling with every kind of throw pillow you could imagine. Their selection ranges anywhere from simple solid colors to sequins and crazy prints. Most of their pillows are priced around $25 or less, many less than $20 and some even under $10. If they’re having a sale on top of that, you’re sure to find some steals!

4. Minted

You may have heard of Minted’s stationary, but did you know they sell throw pillows as well? I used Minted for all of our wedding stationary and was very impressed with everything. The cool thing about Minted is that you can find all kinds of unique designs done by independent artists. Once you find the design you want, you get to choose the size, fabric, and color of your pillow. Prices start around $40 per pillow depending on size/material. It’s a neat way to add a unique style to your room that’s really like a piece of art.

5. Target

Of course Target was going to make the list. They’re always up on the trends so you’re sure to find something that’s stylish and affordable. I could browse their selection for hours. When I was looking online there were over 100 pages of throw pillows!

6. Etsy

Etsy is another place where you can find unique items designed by independent artists. Aside from throw pillows, I’ve bought so many things from Etsy over the years. It’s the perfect place to look when you want something truly unique. Many sellers will even do custom orders if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for. Prices will range from low to high depending on the seller and the type of pillow you want.

7. Amazon

Is there anything you can’t find on Amazon? It was surprising to me how many cute throw pillows they have for such great prices. I loved The Ultimate Guide of Farmhouse Pillows on Amazon by Jaclyn at One Thousand Oaks where she shows us some awesome farmhouse style pillows that you can find on Amazon. I could totally see myself decorating with all of her suggestions.

8. Pier 1

I love all the intricate designs that Pier 1 has on their throw pillows, most priced in the $20 to $40 range. If you’re looking for the perfect accent pillow, definitely check out what they have in stock.

9. HomeGoods

HomeGoods is one of my go to’s when I’m looking for throw pillows (or pretty much any home decor). Everything there is so affordable. You never know what you’re going to find, and it might be different from one day to the next. So if you see something you like, it’s best to grab it before it’s gone.

10. H&M

Not only can you find affordable clothing at H&M, but you can also find stylish home decor. They have tons of CHEAP pillow covers and cushions. I’m talking less than $10 cheap. Perfect if you’re like me and want to switch things up a lot.

11. IKEA

IKEA has a decent size selection of solid and printed pillow covers as well as cushions. They’re all super cheap too, again under $10 for most! I’m kind of in love with this Lungört cushion cover.

12. Society6

This is another place where you can find unique designs done by independent artists. There are TONS of pillow designs to choose from. Their pillow covers run around $20 plus a little extra to add the cushion. You can also select either indoor or outdoor fabric for many designs.

I hope this list helps you in your search for affordable throw pillows. Another point that Jaclyn from One Thousand Oaks mentions in the post above is that you can always keep the same pillows and just rotate out the covers with the seasons. This is another great way to save money and space.

What else am I missing? Are there any other places that you love to shop for throw pillows? Let me know what you think!

Leah. Another place I have found some cute pillows is antique stores. I found some really cute homemade pillows at an antique shop in Spring Hill Tn. And the price wasn’t bad either. Love your posts. Keep up the good work
