Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all have had a great week and are having a relaxing Sunday so far. I know many of you have been busy working on your spring cleaning. My post How to Declutter Your Entire House in One Week has quickly become my post popular post so far! I hope it has proven to be as helpful for you as it has for me when tackling that huge chore!
In that post, I broke down the process of decluttering into seven steps, one for each day. Not everyone has the time to devote an entire week to cleaning, so I also mentioned that you could spread it out over a couple of months and work on one step each week if that works better for you. However you chose to do it, I’m sure your home is already starting to feel much more organized!
In that seven day project, we started by working on our wardrobes. I know that this time of the year, many of us (including myself) get the urge not only to deep clean our homes, but also to freshen up our wardrobes, so I thought it would be the perfect time to go into a little more detail about that. If you haven’t started working on my decluttering plan just yet, or if your wardrobe still needs some work, keep reading!
It’s usually around this time each year that I start to feel like my wardrobe just isn’t working for me anymore. I don’t know how this happens, but as soon as the weather starts to get warmer, I start to wonder what the heck I wore this time last year! I know I had plenty of clothes and I know I didn’t get rid of any of them, but suddenly it’s like I can’t find anything to wear. Continue Reading
Last week I shared with you some tips to make cleaning your house a breeze. Have you had the chance to implement any of those into your cleaning routine yet? If so, let me know how it’s working for you so far!
So you know how to make your regular cleaning routine a little more manageable, but this time of the year many of us are looking to go a step further. This is the time of year for deep cleaning, for finally getting to the deepest, darkest corners of your home that have been neglected for months, or maybe even years. It’s time to get a fresh start. One sure way to do this is by purging your home of clutter.
Even if you’ve cleaned your entire house from top to bottom, it doesn’t feel very clean if you’ve got junk piled up in every room. Not to mention it’s so much easier to clean your house when you don’t have all that junk getting in your way. A good clutter purge can be therapeutic and totally freeing. Continue Reading
This week I decided to tackle a simple project that I have been meaning to do since we moved into our house – organizing the bathroom drawers. It only took nine months, but I finally got around to it.
When I want to organize something, I don’t want to spend a fortune. In fact, I usually try to spend as little as possible. There are so many other things that I would rather spend my money on. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for bargains on new storage items as well as clever ways to re-purpose items I already have. I got the idea of using Dollar Tree storage baskets from this post by Lauren at Bless’er House. Today I am going to show you how I organized our master bathroom drawers for only $7.99! I’m the type of person that can get easily overwhelmed. Letting chores and other tasks pile up is a sure way to stress me out. But sometimes staying on top of these things is easier said than done. We all have those days when we’re just exhausted, but there are dishes to clean, laundry to fold, dinner to be made, and a million other things to think about.
So how does someone with a busy life stay on top of all these things? How do we manage to keep our lives balanced and organized when we’re constantly getting pulled in every direction? Not too long ago I was asking myself these same questions. I knew I was starting to let things get out of hand, and I needed to take control. That’s when I started coming up with a list of simple steps I could take to help myself stay organized and on track. Since then I have been putting these ideas into practice, and today I am going to share with you the ones that have truly made a difference for me. These are steps that anyone can take to create a more organized home and a well-balanced life.
